We are happily retired (LyNette, a former Nurse Practitioner and Larry a former Food Scientist) and now live in Golden, Colorado. LyNette was raised in and around Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her career and practice specialties were cystic fibrosis and sleep medicine. Following retirement LyNette completed Master Gardener coursework. Larry was born in Denver and grew up in Colorado Springs. Lipid and carbohydrate chemistry, food safety, and international regulatory were career opportunities and challenges.
Before Golden we also lived in Fort Wayne, Wheaton, Illinois and Plymouth, Minnesota. Our three children, Peter, Aaron and Ashley live in Illinois and in Colorado. We have four grandchildren, Madison, Liam, Bennett and Kinley.
Click on our photo with granddaughter Kinley to say “Hi” or reach out by eMail.
Our Best Canine Friends include: Sparky, Sherlock Bones, Dr. Watson & [The Lone] Ranger. Initially our family had Shelties (Shetland Sheepdogs). They like to bark and herd. Later we’ve treasured two Siberian Huskies. They’re herding dogs too, but they don’t bark. They either howl or vocalize. Three of our four dogs were rescue dogs. They were strays or ran away and were abandoned by their original owners. We’ll never understand why they were abandoned, as all were very loving. Our favorite dog book is Dave Barry’s Lessons From Lucy. We’ve lived and learned many of these lessons from our canine family members.
How well might you be able to understand the character of our canine companions by looking at their eyes? Take this Doggie’s Eye Quiz and find out. Here are nicknames for our four dogs: "FLY CHOMPER", "DEMON DOG", "EGG SCRAMBLER", and "KIDDIE CUDDLER". See if you can match the preceding nicknames with the right dog by their eyes. To check your answers, click or tap on the dog's face.
Stepping back from the photo on the Index/Cover page of this website yields the bigger picture shown here. This hike is a family favorite. However, going on a little further one will arrive at the top of 'Mount HARM' and of course, 'The Old Sentinel’ (both family, not official names). The Sentinel is prominently featured in family gatherings and was so named by Warren Rasmussen. Read more about the Sentinel in the genealogy page updates ‘Goodly Heritage’ (a private page - see below for more information on access).
